• 6-12 Department Updates - Language Arts

The Middle School Language Arts Department utilizes instructional strategies from Reader's and Writer's workshop to promote critical reading, thinking and writing skills.  Students are encouraged to select books to read independently based on interest and reading level.  Teachers design and implement lessons that model "what good readers and writers do" and encourage students to apply these skills to their own texts and writing pieces.

The High School English Department maintains a curriculum that provides opportunities for students to develop their critical reading and writing skills across all genres of literature and informational text. We offer college prep, honors, and Advanced Placement level courses. Our elective offerings include African American Literature and Creative Writing. The Neptune Township School District is dedicated to teaching English through thought provoking topics and themes that will prepare our students for a successful future in the 21st Century!
