The Neptune Township School District values its parents and families and wants them to become involved in our Title I schools through both the school-based Parental Advisory Committees (PACs) and our District Title I Family Events. As a member of a school-based PAC, families will: Attend monthly meetings, get involved in family event planning, create school-based surveys, and review pertinent Title I plans (school-wide, school-parent compacts, and parental involvement policies). If you are interested in joining either your child’s school-based PAC, please reach out to your child’s school. You can join at any time! Any parent of a child at a Title I school may also participate with their child in up to five Title I sponsored family events held throughout the year. Information on this year’s events is found below.
March 19, 2018 - Family Literacy Night at Summerfield Elementary School
May 9, 2018 - Family Math Night at Green Grove Elementary School
Title I regulations require that each school served under Title I jointly develop with and distribute to parents of participating children, a written involvement policy agreed on by the parents that describes the requirements of SEC. 1118. Additionally, each school receiving funds under Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) must develop a written school-parent compact jointly with parents for all children participating in Title I, Part A activities, services, and programs. Below, please find our Title I Parent Involvement Policies and our School-Parent Compacts.
ESSA Title I Annual Meetings
Every year, Title I funded schools are required to present information on ESSA and school performance to local school communities. Annual Title I meetings for parents of participating Title I students must take place at a convenient time, where all parents of participating Title I students are invited and encouraged to attend, to inform parents of their school’s Title I plan, explain the requirements of the Title I program, and inform parents of their right to be involved in the school improvement plan. Below you will find the annual presentations from 2017-18.
