• Parental Involvement

    • That parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning;
    • That parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school;
    • That parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child; and
    • The carrying out of other activities, such as those described in section 1118 of the ESEA. [Section 9101(32), ESEA.]

    The Neptune Township School District values its parents and families and wants them to become involved in our Title I schools through both the school-based Parental Advisory Committees (PACs) and our District PAC. As a member of a school-based PAC, families will:   Attend monthly meetings, get involved in family event planning, create school-based surveys, and review pertinent Title I plans (school-wide, school-parent compacts, and parental involvement policies). As a member of our District PAC, families will meet every 2-3 months to plan events in which all of the families from our Title I schools have the opportunity to work together, with their children, to participate in educational and exciting experiences, strengthening the home to school connection. If you are interested in joining either a school-based PAC or the District PAC, please fill out the 2013 PAC Family Letter (link below) and return it to your child’s school. You can join at any time!

    Parent Involvement Policies and School-Parent Compacts

    Title I regulations require that each school served under Title I jointly develop with and distribute to parents of participating children, a written involvement policy agreed on by the parents that describes the requirements of SEC. 1118. Additionally, each school receiving funds under Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) must develop a written school-parent compact jointly with parents for all children participating in Title I, Part A activities, services, and programs. Below, please find our Title I Parent Involvement Policies and our School-Parent Compacts.

  • Annual Title I Meetings

    Annual Title I meetings for parents of participating Title I students must take place at a convenient time, where all parents of participating Title I students are invited and encouraged to attend, to inform parents of their school’s Title I plan, explain the requirements of the Title I program, and inform parents of their right to be involved in the school improvement plan.
